About

Prof. Roland Gerhards obtained a Ph.D. in Agricultural Sciences at the University of Bonn in 1993. Since 2004, he is Professor of Weed Science at the University of Hohenheim. He teaches Weed Biology, Weed Management, Precision Farming and Integrated Crop Protection in several Bachelor- and Master courses at the University of Hohenheim and at the European partner Universities within the subject area Plant Health of the Euroleague for Life Sciences. As part of the Erasmus-Sokrates teaching exchange program, he gives invited lectures at the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague.

His is conducting research in Integrated Weed Management Systems, Precision Farming, Sensor- and application technologies in Crop Protection and Conservation of biodiversity in agricultural fields.

Roland Gerhards is a member of the German Society of Phytomedicine (DPG) and the European Weed Research Society (EWRS)

He has authored and co-authored 147 papers in peer-reviewed international journals.
