The Phytomedicine addresses by plants, microorganisms, animals and damage to plants with the measures that are used to maintain health and performance of crops. An integral part of our teaching concept is the demonstration of harmful effects in the institute´s educational garden.
All essential crops southwestern Germany are grown in the educational garden. Because of the treatment of a part of areas the impact of the presence of harmful pathogens can be demonstrated and shown how successful plant protection originating measeures can have.
By 2011 constructed new building, the institute has the most modern laboratory building of the University of Hohenheim. Experiments and research can be carried out at the highest level.
